AREACH is eager to deliver high value mental health services to young people from a relatively disadvantaged socio-economic status background who have a higher risk of experiencing severe mental health problems than their more privileged peers.
Our goal is to bring awareness about mental health into inner-city communities to reduce the stigma and increase access. It’s important that we invest in the Atlanta neighborhoods that need us most and invade them with mental health services. Together we can bring down the persistent association between social inequality and mental illness. Let’s start by investing $20,400 in mental health services for one of our most dangerous neighborhood, Southwest Atlanta.
AREACH MENTAL WEALTH PROGRAM FUNDING BREAKDOWN
We will kick off with a 4.5-hour mental wellness event for 150+ attendees — delivering onsite mini-therapy sessions with licensed therapists, brain education with a neuroscientist, neuromediation with trained facilitators, healthy meals, and more. The sustainability of this program is to provide sponsorships for ongoing mental health services to 16 youth. Our only way to make this effective and efficient is an adequate amount of funding to deliver high value mental health care now and in the future.
